FROM PARIS WITH LOVE PART I
Hey everyone! Happy 2019! I’m so excited to share out engagement session with you. If you follow me on instagram, you know I went to Paris in November of last year. We went with our wedding photographer to shoot our engagement pictures. Michael and I love to travel. We have traveled so much since we started dating. We even entertained the idea of a destination wedding. Once we decided to keep the wedding local, I knew a destination engagement shoot would be a perfect idea!
We have been talking about going to Paris since our 5th date lol I always thought it would be romantic to have an engagement shoot in Paris but wasn’t sure if we could make it come together. As soon as we picked our venue last summer, I started searching for apartments, flights and scouting locations. I’ll be sharing our Paris apartment and other places we visited while we were there. My photographer asked me to share my ultimate, dream, have-to-have shot. It was absolutely a shot on this carousel across from the Eiffel Tower. I loved the idea of taking pictures on the carousel with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Those shots just look unreal to me. It was a lot of drama to get the shot, but it was worth it in the end to have this picture of us!
Onto the actual shooting. I’ll have to admit, it was brutal. When I was checking the weather for Paris leading up to our trip, the weather app showed mid 50s for the high everyday. We knew we would need to be up early every day to shoot and avoid crowds as much as possible. Once we arrived (after the most insane drama at Heathrow Airport. Seriously never want to fly to or through London again in this lifetime lol), the high every day dropped to 40 degrees! Biiiiiiiiiish! It was freezing! We have so many pictures where our faces are so pained because it was freezing. So many people came up to us and complimented our strength and gave us best wishes for good photos. That’s how cold it was. By the end of the first day, I got really sick. I had to go to the ER when we got back home and was diagnosed with a severe sinus infection! I guess my dad was right, I should always keep my chest covered in cold temperatures. Who knew?
