ROBINSON STYLE LOVES: THE DURHAM HOTEL

Welcome to my new series called Robinson Style Loves. I can't wait to use this new series to highlight all my favorite places to stay, eat and play. I've always loved sharing my favorites on my blog. In all honesty, I started this blog for that sole purpose. After sharing my Durham, NC Weekend Travel Guide, I got such great feedback. Then I realized I should really make this series a reality.

My first feature is The Durham Hotel. If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen my pictures and Instagram stories from my stay there. I absolutely love this hotel. The Durham is beyond gorgeous. If you're a fan of mid-century modern design, this boutique hotel is your dream stay. When it comes to a hotel, I need two things, great design and great food. The Durham has both. As you can see the hotel is beautiful. Not only that but, the hotel houses a coffee shop, rooftop raw bar and restaurant by Andrea Reusing. Reusing is a James Beard Award-winning chef and the dining shows it.

The best part of my visit to The Durham Hotel was trying their coffee soda. I'm not a coffee drinker by any means but when the barista offered to make me one, I couldn't turn it down! We'd already eaten breakfast and were feeling tired so we needed a jolt of energy so it was right on time! We watched as she mixed coffee syrup, club soda and ice and topped it off with a twist of lemon. It was delicious! Seriously it tasted just as it sounds, like a soda with a coffee aftertaste. We shared one and we were energized for the rest of the day! I already have plans to return to The Durham and working from their dining room with an order of coffee soda!

I've featured the newsstand at The Durham in my weekend travel guide this summer. I love being able to get my hands on my favorite magazines and did I mention you can get a shoe shine while you're at it? I picked up issues of The Scout Guide and Garden and Gun. I usually get an issue of Kinfolk while I'm at it. Did I mention that The Durham has a bomb rooftop spot as well? I personally love to visit it during happy hours or the hotel's amazing Disco Brunch.

Had the absolute best time at The Durham and can't wait to feature more of my favorite local spots! Thanks for reading!
